On the afternoon of July 4, a delegation led by Zulkulov, Vice President of Jizzakh State Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, visited our university. A symposium was held in the First Meeting Room of Qinzheng Building. Song Ye, Vice President of HNU, attended the symposium, and relevant persons in charge from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, School of Chinese and Literature, Faculty of Education, School of Physical Education, and College of International Education participated. The meeting was presided over by Zhao Yang, Director from Office of International Cooperation and Exchange.

Song Ye extended a welcome to Zulkulov and his delegation. She said that the two universities had conducted in-depth communication on their school-running characteristics, disciplinary advantages, and international cooperation through online talks in the early stage, which had laid a solid foundation for this meeting and even future cooperation. She pointed out that HNU is a pacesetter among normal universities in Henan Province and one of the universities in the province that first offered the undergraduate program of International Chinese Language Education. It is now a national first-class undergraduate program construction site and has built an integrated training system for undergraduate, master's and doctoral students, with prominent professional advantages. She emphasized that Central Asia is an important hub for the construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”. Our university will give full play to its advantages in teacher education and international Chinese education, carry out cooperation with Jizzakh State Pedagogical University in language and cultural education, teacher-student exchanges, and people-to-people exchanges, and jointly promote cultural exchanges and cultural mutual learning between China and Uzbekistan.

Zulkulov thanked our university for the warm reception. He said that as an important country along the “Belt and Road Initiative”, Uzbekistan is deeply involved in the construction of the “China-Central Asia Community with a Shared Future”. He looks forward to carrying out practical cooperation with our university in the development of teaching resources for Chinese and science and engineering majors, teacher training, and student internships, so as to jointly improve the quality of Chinese teaching and the level of international talent training, and provide talent support for national economic and social development.

At the symposium, the persons in charge of the participating colleges respectively introduced the achievements in discipline and professional construction and the experience in international talent training. The two sides conducted in-depth discussions on specific cooperation fields such as platform construction, teacher exchanges, and student exchanges, and reached initial consensus.

After the symposium, Zulkulov and his delegation visited the History Museum of Henan Normal University, School of Chinese and LIterature, and College of International Education.
