From April 17 to 30, Vladimir Klinov, First Vice-Rector of The Belarusian State University of Physical Education, was invited to visit our university and carry out a series of exchange and cooperation activities.
On April 24, Yang Yadong, a member of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and Vice President of our university, held talks with Vladimir Klinov in the reception room of Qinzheng Building. Heads of relevant units including the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Physical Education, and the School of International Education, as well as project teachers, attended the meeting. Vladimir Klinov conveyed a handwritten letter from Sergey Repkin, President of The Belarusian State University of Physical Education, to the President of our university. He affirmed the achievements made in the existing cooperative program in Physical Education and expressed the hope that the two universities would jointly apply for a dual-degree program in Physical Education. Yang Yadong thanked both sides for their efforts in the earlier stage of cooperation and conveyed President Guo Haiming’s support for deepening cooperation between the two universities. He pointed out that our university and The Belarusian State University of Physical Education have a solid foundation for deepening cooperation and promoting collaborative innovation in the field of physical education. He expressed the hope that both sides would refine the cooperation plan, launch the joint application for the dual-degree program as soon as possible, and work together to build an international cooperative education brand program with distinctive features, solid quality and demonstrative influence.
During the visit, the two universities organized several project application and feasibility meetings, exchanged views on core issues such as the dual-degree training program, the allocation of high-quality faculty resources and degree conferment, and reached multiple consensuses. Vladimir Klinov also entered classrooms and sports fields to teach a football conditioning training course to students majoring in Physical Education. He also attended the closing ceremony of the 63rd Sports Meet of our university and presented awards to the winning athletes.
This visit has injected new momentum into high-quality cooperative education. As members of the first group of the China-Belarus University Alliance, the two universities will rely on this high-level cooperation platform to deepen cooperation in talent cultivation, teacher-student exchanges, scientific research cooperation and other fields, promote the quality and effectiveness of China-Belarus higher education cooperation programs, and build a high-quality growth platform for young students of both countries.
