On the morning of June 3, 2026, Henan Normal University held a Sino-U.S. Cooperative Education Program Advancement Meeting with the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay in the Second Conference Room of the Qinzheng Building. Attendees included Yang Yadong, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC University Committee and Vice President; Professor NASIF, Head of the Electrical Engineering program at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh; Professor GUNN, Head of the Environmental Engineering program at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay; faculty representative Professor COULIBALY; as well as relevant heads of our University’s School of Optoelectronic Engineering, School of Environment, and School of International Education, along with faculty and student representatives. The meeting was chaired by Zhao Yang, Dean of the School of International Education.
Yang Yadong extended a warm welcome to the American representatives. He noted that, through the joint efforts of both universities, the jointly organized programs in Electrical Engineering and Automation and in Environmental Engineering have both passed the Ministry of Education’s assessment and been successfully renewed, cumulatively delivering nearly a thousand outstanding graduates to society. He stated that the programs have played a positive role in advancing the cultivation of innovative, internationalized talent and in building the University’s distinctive and advantageous disciplines. He expressed the hope that both sides would leverage their respective disciplinary strengths and educational resources to strengthen the development of high-quality faculty teams and curriculum systems, reinforce practical teaching, refine the internationalized talent cultivation plans for each program, and continually deepen cooperation in program connotation development, student exchange, faculty visits, and scientific research collaboration, thereby injecting lasting momentum into the sustained development of the programs.
NASIF and GUNN, on behalf of the partner universities respectively, congratulated the programs on their excellent achievements. The University of Wisconsin Oshkosh and the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay attach great importance to their cooperation with Henan Normal University, selecting outstanding faculty to advance the high-quality development of the programs and fully supporting the renewal and conversion of the programs into Sino-U.S. dual-degree programs. They expressed hope that, building on the existing cooperation, both sides would strengthen faculty and student exchanges and explore more innovative areas of collaboration.
At the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on plans to deepen program cooperation and reached consensus on the integration of high-quality resources, joint curriculum development, teaching quality enhancement, and faculty and student exchange programs.
