On June 18, our university held the “Henan Normal University —National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan Joint Forum on Digital and Intelligent Education.” Wang Yuliang, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, and Ugiloy, International Advisor of the National Pedagogical University of Uzbekistan, together with officials from the Office of Social Sciences, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, and other relevant departments, as well as faculty and student representatives of our university—more than 80 people in total—attended the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony was chaired by Liu Guobing, Dean of the Faculty of International Studies.
On behalf of the university, Wang Yuliang extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and provided a detailed introduction to the developmental history and academic achievements of our university. He noted that, under the strategic planning and personal guidance of the heads of state of China and Uzbekistan, bilateral relations have continued to operate at a high level, the all-weather comprehensive strategic partnership in the new era has been continuously deepened and consolidated, and the two sides have reached important consensus across a broad range of fields including culture and education. He observed that the joint forum co-hosted by the two universities is an active response to the two heads of state’s initiative to strengthen people-to-people and cultural exchanges, and a vivid embodiment of the concept of a China-Uzbekistan community with a shared future, demonstrating the sense of responsibility of both universities in proactively embracing the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, and jointly answering the question of the time—”What is the mission of education in the digital and intelligent age?”
Ugiloy expressed her gratitude to our university. She noted that frequent high-level exchanges between China and Uzbekistan and the continuously deepening political mutual trust have laid a solid foundation for cooperation in various fields. She expressed the hope of taking this forum as an opportunity to integrate China’s experience in smart education with Uzbekistan’s needs for educational development, jointly explore new pathways for teacher training in the digital era, and promote in-depth cooperation between the two universities in areas such as joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and joint curriculum development.
During the forum, 13 experts and scholars delivered keynote reports. Participants from both countries engaged in discussions on topics including the cultivation of teachers’ digital literacy in the intelligent era and the construction of smart classrooms. After the forum, Wu Yaowu, Secretary of the Faculty Party Committee, presented paper-presentation certificates to the keynote speakers.
