Journal Of Henan Normal University (Natural Science Edition)  was established in 1960, and flipped to an open access journal in 2023. All articles published since 2023 are available as open access works. Upon publication, these articles are immediately accessible on the official journal website free of charge to all users. Under the terms of the CC BY-NC-ND license, users are permitted to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, crawl the articles for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful aims.

Articles from 1960 to 2022 are published using a non-open access model, and are therefore not open access works. Most of the articles published between 2015 and 2022 are archived on the journal's official website (see Archive), and are available for free full-text download. All authors publishing in this journal are required to sign a Copyright Transfer Agreement. Under this agreement, authors agree that once the article is accepted by the journal, the full copyright in both the entire article and any figures, tables, abstracts, or other extractable parts of the article (including but not limited to the rights of reproduction, distribution, information network dissemination, broadcasting, performance, translation, compilation, and adaptation) will be transferred to the editorial department of Journal of Henan Normal University. The editorial department of this journal will become the copyright holder of the article.
