The effect of homopolymer addition on the micellar properties in rod/coil block copolymer solutions

摘要:

采用自治平均场方法,探讨了均聚物存在对棒/线嵌段共聚物溶液胶束形成的影响。通过计算热容等物理量发现,贫化作用对胶束重排的影响与疏水棒嵌段长度有关。对于中等长度的棒嵌段,体系贫化作用不但促进胶束结构重排,还促进了胶束(临界点附近)初期生长;当棒嵌段较长时,贫化作用抑制了胶束的结构重排。结果有助于进一步理解贫化作用驱动嵌段共聚物自组装的内在机制。

The effect of the occurrence of homopolymer on the micellar properties of rod/coil block copolymer solutions was studied by using self-consistent mean field theory. By calculating the physical quantities such as heat capacity, it is found that the effect of depletion on the rearrangement of micelle structure depends on the length of hydrophobic rod block. When the rod block length is medum. the depletion of the system not only promotes the rearrangement of micelles, but also promotes the initial growth of micelles (near the critical point). When the rod block is relatively long. the depletion inhibits the rearrangement of micelles. The results of this study are helpful to further understand the internal mechanism of depletion -driven self-assembly of block copolymer.
