Henan International Joint Laboratory of Agricultural Microbial Ecology and Technology
Under the leadership of Professor Yang Qingxiang, Henan International Joint Laboratory of Agricultural Microbial Ecology and Technology (HIJLAMET) was established on the basis of the Key Laboratory for Microorganisms and Functional Molecules, approved by the Henan Provincial Department of Science and Technology in 2018. The laboratory relies on platforms such as the first-level doctoral program of biology and the first-level master program of ecology, post-doctoral mobile stations, etc. in Henan Normal University. HIJLAMET is co-established with Hemholtz Munich Center, German Research Center for Environment and Health, Kentucky University in America, and Advanced Institute of Industrial Sciences and Technology in Japan. The laboratory currently has 28 scientific research backbones including 6 professors, 2 distinguished professors, 1 new talented person of the Ministry of education, 2 outstanding youth of science and technology innovation in Henan, 1 full-time secretory and 1 experiment manager. The laboratory invites famous experts and professors in the field at home and abroad as members of the academic committee, and has established extensive exchanges and cooperation with the United States, Germany, Japan and other countries in personnel exchanges, students’ training and scientific research project cooperation.
The orientation of HIJLAMET is to face the frontiers of disciplines and local demands, aim at practical problems in the modern agricultural production process, systematically carry out theoretical and applied technical research on agriculture and soil microorganisms, and achieve green agricultural production. HIJLAMET has developed broad research in basic microbiology and applied technologies in modern agriculture and mainly focused in four directions; (i) microbial ecology in plant rhizosphere and soil bioremediation, (ii) plant endophytic microbial resources and developing technologies, (iii) mechanisms of microbe-plant interactions, (iv) development of agricultural microbes. HIJLAMET has also planned to establish one collection and preservation center for agricultural microbes in near future. HIJLAMET aim is to explore green food and vegetable production by using microbial ecological technologies to prevent plant diseases, remediate continuous cropping obstacles, and improve plant growth and quality. HIJLAMET focuses on integration of theories and applications, targeting at scientific breakthroughs and applicative innovations.
